  • Very special place. I attended ages ago as a student and loved every minute. I worked at Mill Hollow as a Cabin Counselor years later, and can attest to the indelible experiences provided by the program. I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to sign up!

The Granite School District opened this amazing place, paying the federal government a whopping $1 dollar a year, for the betterment of students, to educate them about our natural world. Unfortunately, the School District was eventually cursed with an idiot for a superintendent and under his stupidity, the District dropped the programs, leaving the center in limbo. There was a volunteer group who picked it up in an attempt to keep it going as before and they did a great job, with students, parents and families thrilled to have this amazing adventure to continue! Sadly, it couldn't sustain itself and the YMCA took this beautiful place over and decided to price themselves so bloody high, there was no way anyone not involved in the YMCA could afford going. These greedy bottom feeders at the YMCA took an educational service and adventure and turned it into a private playground, actually charging people almost as much as a entrance ticket for a weekend at Disnyland. Shame on Granite School District, the superintendent and shame on the YMCA.
